Welcome Week 2025!
Newman Welcome Week is a time of fun, games, fellowship, and coming home to a community of people that shares the love of Christ with the world. Although we are all sinners — “Christ’s VIPs,” as Fr. Joseph says — we all share in a mission to love and serve the world around us.
Week One Highlights
This first week of Welcome Week has already been filled with so much joy. From ice cream socials and games to meaningful conversations and laughter shared around meals, the Newman Center has been alive with energy and welcome.
One of the highlights was our Wednesday night Mass, which brought together a full chapel of students to worship, pray, and encounter Christ in the Eucharist. The atmosphere was filled with peace, reverence, and joy — a reminder that Newman is more than just a student organization; it’s a spiritual home.
Building Community
Throughout the week, students new and returning have found a place where they can belong, grow in faith, and form lasting friendships. The homelike atmosphere of Newman has been felt in every event — whether in the laughter of Nine Square, the quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, or the simple moments of fellowship around the table.
And we’re just getting started! This semester is full of even more opportunities to connect, from men’s and women’s events to many social events. Whether you’ve been at every event or haven’t made it to one yet, there’s still plenty of time to get involved and experience the joy of this community.
At Newman, you are always welcome. Come as you are, and let’s continue this journey together — growing in friendship, faith, and love of Christ.
