Lord,

Long after our school days have passed us by, we’re still impacted by the power of a new year beginning. Some of us send our own kids off to school, and some of us merely notice school supplies line shelves, buses join our morning commute, and the crisp change in the air.

During this season of change, Lord, we ask that you give grace to not only those in a classroom, but all of us who are daily students of you, the ultimate teacher. Grant that we may all have courageous and open hearts to learn each day. That we find joy in the challenges that form and change our minds. That we may be willing to do the work you ask of us so that we can become better disciples.

In all things–school, parish life, work, our families, our friendships–help us to strive for holiness at every turn.

Amen.
